HOS247 Logbook App: connects to the logging device via Bluetooth or USB (if available) to display hours-of-service (HOS) data. Mobile Device: HOS247 ELD is designed to operate on most modern smartphones and tablets. 3 HOS247 LLC Install ELD Hardware Connect the device to the vehicle's diagnostic port (ECM port) using the provided cable. Perform this step before starting the engine or opening the HOS247 app. Once the device is powered (slow flashing green LED), start the engine. A fast flashing green LED indicates that vehicle bus activity has been detected. Once the green LED becomes solid, the device is registered on the vehicle bus. From this point on, the device is connected to the vehicle ECM and ready to communicate with the app. For power management reasons, the LEDs may not stay on continuously. 4 HOS247 LLC Set Up the App To set up the HOS247 app, follow the steps below: Download the HOS247 ELD Logbook app from the app store on your mobile device. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device. Do not pair through your device settings; the connection will be established through the app. Log in with the provided credentials. Select your vehicle from the list. Enter the MAC address listed on the ELD device sticker and tap Connect. A green Bluetooth logo will appear at the top right corner of the screen when the ELD is paired. 5 HOS247 LLC Driving with ELD Once the ELD is connected, driving time is captured automatically. When the vehicle reaches 5 mph or more, the app switches to Driving status. Logs and other features are not available while in Driving mode. When the vehicle stops, you can change your duty status by tapping the status circle. The app will remind you to make a selection in 5 minutes. If no selection is made, your status switches to On Duty. 6 HOS247 LLC Change Duty Status Tap the status circle on the Status screen. Select the new duty status you wish to apply. Tap Notes to add a description of your activity if necessary. Tap Update, and your new status will be displayed on the Status screen. 7 HOS247 LLC View and Edit Logs Tap the main menu icon and select Logs. The app keeps the last two weeks of logs. Tap on the day you want to review, and the events for that day will be displayed. To edit an event, tap the Pencil icon next to the event. Add a note explaining the reason for the change, as required by FMCSA. Tap Save. Note: Automatically recorded driving time cannot be edited, only annotated. 8 HOS247 LLC Insert a Past Duty Status Tap the main menu icon and select Logs. Open the logs for the day you want to update. Tap the + icon in the top-right corner of the screen. Select the duty status, set the start time, and add a note explaining the reason for the entry. Tap Save. 9 HOS247 LLC Certify Logs Tap the main menu icon and select Logs. Select the day to certify. The events logged that day will be displayed, with three tabs at the bottom: Events, Form, and Certify. Tap Form to enter the required information: trailer plate number, shipping documents (BoL), and co-driver information if applicable. Tap Save. Tap Certify, review the certification statement, and tap Agree. On the Logs screen, the Form and Certify indicators for the certified day will turn from red to green. 10 HOS247 LLC Start a DOT Inspection During a roadside inspection, DOT Inspection mode lets the officer view your logs for the last 8 days. To start DOT inspection: Tap the main menu icon and select DOT Inspection. Tap Start Inspection. The inspection screen displays logs for the current day and the previous 7 days. Hand the device to the officer. The officer can navigate through the 8 days using the arrow icons at the top of the screen. 11 HOS247 LLC Transfer Logs to FMCSA Tap the main menu icon and select DOT Inspection. Tap Send Logs. Enter the code provided by the officer in the Comment field. Select one of the two FMCSA-approved transfer methods: Web Services Email Tap Send. 12 HOS247 LLC
