SUNSET LOGBOOK Electronic Logging Device (ELD) User Manual Installing the ELD Hardware Start by connecting the ELD device to your vehicle's diagnostic port. The provided cable (6-pin, 9-pin, or OBDII) ensures a secure connection. Viewing Current Duty Status The main screen displays your current duty status. This screen gives you a quick overview of Drive, Shift, Break and Cycle times. Changing Duty Status Simply tap on the duty status circle. Choose between Off Duty, Driving, On Duty, Sleeping, Yard Move, or using Personal Use (if enabled by your fleet manager). Certifying Logs Remember, it's important to certify your logs at the end of each shift. This step confirms that your records are accurate and in compliance. Just tap the "Certify" button, and capture your signature. Accessing Log Details From the "Logs" section you can access your electronic HOS records for the past fourteen days. Tap the date of a log to view all the details. Modifying Duty Status Entries While you can't modify automatically recorded driving time, you can add or edit other duty status entries as needed. If you need to make changes, just tap the pencil icon next to a date. After making your modifications, remember to save them to ensure your records stay accurate. Accessing DOT Inspection Mode During a roadside inspection, you might need to show your logs to officers. Simply access the DOT mode from the main menu of the app and hand your device over to the officer. They will be able to navigate your RODS. If asked to, tap Send to transfer your logs via web services or email.
