The MDT serves both as a tool to maximize fleet operational efficiencies by linking the driver and truck with back office transportation and fleet management systems as well as an Electronic Logging Device (ELD) that meets new Federal ELD Mandate requirements. This user manual is designed to guide drivers in the use of the CarrierMate ELD system in order to automate their Hours of Service (HOS) driver logs as required under the mandate. Logging in to the MDT When you begin your day on the MDT, you will be presented with the green Login screen that includes the login and password entry fields. This green login screen lets you know that no other driver is currently logged into this unit. Reminder: A supply of blank driver's records of duty status graph-grids sufficient to record the driver's duty status and other related information for the duration of the current trip is required to be in the vehicle at all times.
