The Ensi Log ELD application paired with the Ensi Log PT30 unit delivers live engine data, duty status tracking, GPS positioning, and makes HOS entries, DVIR filings, and DOT inspections straightforward. To get started On your Android device, open the Google Play Store and search for Ensi Log ELD Tap Install and grant any requested permissions Once installation finishes, open Ensi Log ELD Allow any on-screen permission requests Enter your username and password to sign in. If you dont yet have login credentials or cant remember them, contact your fleet manager. New users should follow the apps registration prompts to set up an Ensi Log ELD account. 1 Truck Connection Setup Ensure your ELD unit is mounted exactly as described in the Hardware Manual before linking the Ensi Log ELD app to your truck. Once the device is ready Turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone or tablet Launch the Ensi Log ELD app On the home screen, tap the truck icon to search for nearby ELD-enabled vehicles Pick your trucks serial number from the list to establish the connection A green truck icon at the top confirms a successful link A red truck icon signals a dropped connection that needs reestablishing. 2 Driving Logs Tap the Log icon on the dashboard to view the complete logbook, which includes driver, vehicle, and carrier details. The Log Graph presents a timeline of your duty statuses and Hours of Service, making it easy to monitor compliance at a glance. Reviewing and Editing Logs Use the date selector at the top to navigate between days To insert a missing duty segment, choose Insert Event and enter the required information To edit an existing record, tap the pencil icon next to that entry. Under FMCSA rules, you may only change entries to correct errors, and any edits must preserve the logs accuracy and compliance. 3 Main Dashboard When you launch the Ensi Log ELD app, the Hours of Service dashboard loads, displaying Malfunctions and Data Inconsistencies Icon flags any device faults or data conflicts Additional Menu grants quick access to extra tools and preferences Connection Status Icon a truck graphic that shows how well your PT30 is linked to the vehicle Notifications Panel lists important system alerts and messages Active Driver Name indicates the signed-in driver; tap it to switch or manage Co-Driver settings Country Rules Flag shows which regulatory ruleset is currently applied. Duty Status Switch lets you toggle your HOS status (On Duty, Off Duty, etc.) in one tap Hours Remaining Indicator tracks your remaining driving and on-duty hours HOS Info Menu opens a detailed view of your service records Log Menu provides access to todays log and historical entries Vehicle Inspection (DVIR) launches the Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports area DOT Inspection Prep organizes your logs for Department of Transportation review. 4 Changing HOS Status On the Status Switch screen, select your current duty from the following options: Driving, On Duty, Off Duty, Sleeper Berth, Border Crossing, Yard Move (only when On Duty), Personal Use (only when Off Duty). Automatic Transition The system will switch you to Driving once motion is detected After stopping, wait a minimum of 10 seconds before shutting off the engine so the ELD can record the end of your drive and unlock the status selector. Cutting the engine too quickly may leave your log showing you as Driving, causing a compliance error. To correct this Restart the engine Let the drive segment finish Manually choose the appropriate status. You can also enter additional details manually Special activity types (Personal Use, Yard Move Custom notes or remark Shipping document identifier Trailer numbers Whenever you add or adjust an entry, include the odometer reading to ensure your log remains accurate and compliant. 5 Personal Use & Yard Move To set Personal Use status On the Status Switch screen, tap Off Duty Once youre Off Duty, pick Personal Use and enter a short comment. To complete the change Tap Clear Enter your comment or required details Tap Save. To set Yard Move status On the Status Switch screen, tap On Duty Once youre On Duty, select Yard Move and add a brief comment. To complete the change Tap Clear Enter your comment or required details Tap Save. 6 Rules In the Rules section, you can review the active HOS framework and watch your drive, on-duty, and off-duty timers adjust in real time. This ensures every log entry follows the correct regulations and keeps you in full compliance. If you cross into a different jurisdiction, simply select the appropriate rule set to meet local mandates. You can also view when daily and weekly limits reset, helping you plan your rest periods effectively. By staying aware of these parameters, you avoid fines and maintain a safer, more efficient operation. 7 Dual Driver Mode The Ensi Log ELD app supports dual-driver operation, allowing two individuals to log their duty times and statuses on a single vehicle. Each vehicle can only maintain one active ELD connection at a time whether youre driving alone or with a teammate. Trying to link multiple devices simultaneously can result in missing data and is not allowed. Setting Up Team Driving The primary driver logs in with their credentials To add a co-driver, open the menu and select Co-Driver The second driver then enters their own username and password. Once both profiles are authenticated, you can toggle between drivers by tapping the Co-Drivers icon. 8 Additional Menu Tap the menu icon at the bottom-right of the Home Screen to access HO DVI IFT Drivers add new driver profiles or update existing ones Rules select and configure the HOS rule set for your jurisdiction IFTA record and review fuel purchases for IFTA compliance Truck manage your vehicles connection to the ELD device Truck Settings view and monitor odometer readings Messages exchange messages with your carriers network Contact Support start a live chat with the Ensi Log ELD support team Settings customize app preferences and options FAQ find answers to common questions and troubleshooting tips Log Out safely sign out of the app. 9 DOT Inspection & Data Transfer The DOT Inspection menu provides summaries of all the collected data about the driver, truck, and trip. You may also use this menu to transfer the data to FMCSA during the DOT inspection, certify your logs, or view unidentified records. Click on the Start Inspection button and check if your logs are ready to be transferred to the safety officials. If everything is OK, click the Transfer Data to Roadside Inspector button and choose the method of sending your logs Send it to the personal email (provided by the inspector) Send it to the FMCSA email Send it to the Web Services (FMCSA). If you select personal email, you need to enter the recipient's address, add a comment. If you select Web Services (FMCSA) or Email to FMCSA you need to add a comment. The reporting period will vary depending on the rules of the country in which you operate. 10 DVIR Under FMCSA rules, drivers are required to submit a DVIR every day to verify their vehicles condition and maintain compliance. To create a new report Open the Ensi Log ELD app and navigate to the DVIR section Tap Add a Report to begin a fresh inspection You can also review previous inspections from the same menu. During the inspection report, remember to Verify your current GPS location (automatically detected by the app) Choose the correct truck and/or trailer from the drop-down list Enter the odometer readings for both the tractor and trailer Document any defects or issues you find Complete the safety check, indicating whether the vehicle is fit for service or needs repairs. 11 Fuel Receipts & IFTA The IFTA section in the Ensi Log ELD app allows drivers and fleet managers to capture and organize every fuel purchase from their trips. By consolidating all fuel receipts, you ensure compliance with IFTA and IRP auditing requirements. To get started, open the Additional Menu and tap IFTA. Here you can Browse previously entered fuel transaction Submit new receipts along with trip details Maintaining a complete, centralized fuel record keeps your fleet audit-ready at all times. 12 Malfunctions & Data Diagnostics Under FMCSA regulations, each ELD device must monitor its own performance against technical standards and automatically detect any malfunctions or data inconsistencies. The system will classify each event as either "detected" or "cleared" based on its current status. When a malfunction or diagnostic issue is detected The M/D icon at the top of the app will change from green to red A red "M" signals a malfunction A red "D" indicates a data inconsistency. Driver Responsibilities During ELD Malfunction In accordance with FMCSA Rule 49 CFR 395.34, drivers must take the following steps if an ELD malfunction occurs Report the malfunction in writing to your motor carrier within 24 hours Reconstruct your record of duty status (RODS) for the current day and the previous seven consecutive days Use paper logs that comply with 395.8 if the records are not accessible through the ELD Continue to manually maintain your duty status records using paper logs until the ELD is repaired and compliant. In case of any issues during a DOT inspection, be prepared to present your manually maintained Records of Duty Status (RODS) to the roadside officer. 13 Malfunctions Engine Synchronization no connection to the Engine Control Module (ECM). Contact the motor carrier and arrange for the ECM link to be restored. Check and correct the logs if needed, and restart the engine after that Positioning Compliance no valid GPS signal. Can be fixed automatically by restoring the GPS signal. Unregistered Odometer Change odometer readings changed when a vehicle was not moving. Recheck the odometer data in the app or contact the motor carrier. Power Compliance occur when an ELD is not powered for an aggregated in-motion driving time of 30 minutes or more over a 24-hour period across all driver profiles. Can be fixed automatically when aggregated in-motion driving time will be less than 30 minutes in 24-hour period. Data Recording Compliance device's storage is full. Delete some unnecessary files from your smartphone or tablet to provide at least 5 MB of free space Data Transfer Compliance failure to communicate for three days following a data transfer data diagnostic event. The malfunction will resolve itself when the device begins to communicate successfully. Check your internet connection and contact your carrier if the problem persists. Timing Compliance ELD provides an incorrect timeframe for the events. Contact the motor carrier or the Ensi Log ELD Support Team. 14 Data Diagnostic Events Power the Engine was started while the device was off, and the ELD took more than 60 seconds to power up after turning the engine on. Can be fixed automatically once ELD is turned on or contact the motor carrier Engine Synchronization ECM to ELD connection is lost. Contact the motor carrier and arrange for the ECM link to be restored Missing Required Data Elements a temporary or permanent loss of the GPS/Internet connection or the ECM disconnection. Reconnect and reload the ELD device Data Transfer driving data cannot be transferred to the FMCSA server. Contact the motor carrier or the Ensi Log ELD Support Team Unidentified Driving Records unidentified driving lasts more than 30 minutes. Manage unidentified events until their duration drops to 15 minutes or less during a 24-hour period Positioning the ELD is temporarily unable to receive valid positional data from the GPS. The issue may be resolved once the GPS signal is restored. To edit personal details, select Current Driver or Co-Driver, which is especially useful for teams that need to switch users mid-shift. You can also adjust preferences such as distance units, clock display style, and enable features like Regain Hours at Midnight to align with your schedule. Additional options let you update your electronic signature, upload log files, switch themes, and view the app version. For enhanced security, activate Face ID or Touch ID, and use the Log Out button when youre finished. Exit App Before exiting Ensi Log ELD, open Settings and check the Upload Queue. Logging out is only permitted once all pending uploads have completed. If uploads remain, verify your device has internet access and wait until the queue is empty. When there are no more files in the queue, you may safely log out. 16
