Overview & Getting Started
Commercial vehicle operators are required by FMCSA to record their hours with
an approved ELD. The Ensi Log ELD application paired with the Ensi Log PT30
unit delivers live engine data, duty status tracking, GPS positioning, and makes
HOS entries, DVIR filings, and DOT inspections straightforward.
To get started

Play Store and search for Ensi Log ELD
Tap Install and grant any requested
permissions
Once installation finishes, open Ensi Log
ELD
Allow any on-screen permission requests

entry follows the correct regulations and keeps you in full compliance.

If you cross into a different jurisdiction, simply select the appropriate rule set to
meet local mandates.

You can also view when daily and weekly limits reset, helping you plan your rest
periods effectively. By staying aware of these parameters, you avoid fines and
maintain a safer, more efficient operation.

7

Dual Driver Mode
The Ensi Log ELD app supports dual-driver operation, allowing two individuals to
log their duty times and statuses on a single vehicle.

Each vehicle can only maintain one active ELD connection at a time whether
youre driving alone or with a teammate. Trying to link multiple devices
simultaneously can result in missing data and is not allowed.

Setting Up Team Driving

credentials
To add a co-driver, open the menu and
select Co-Driver
The second driver then enters their own
username and password.

Once both profiles are authenticated, you

vehicles condition and maintain compliance.

To create a new report

Malfunctions & Data Diagnostics
Under FMCSA regulations, each ELD device must monitor its own performance
against technical standards and automatically detect any malfunctions or data
inconsistencies.

The system will classify each event as either "detected" or "cleared" based on its
current status.

When a malfunction or diagnostic issue is detected
The M/D icon at the top of the app will change from green to red
A red "M" signals a malfunction
A red "D" indicates a data inconsistency.

Driver Responsibilities During ELD Malfunction

In accordance with FMCSA Rule 49 CFR 395.34, drivers must take the following
steps if an ELD malfunction occurs
Report the malfunction in writing to your motor carrier within 24 hours
Reconstruct your record of duty status (RODS) for the current day and the
previous seven consecutive days
Use paper logs that comply with 395.8 if the records are not accessible
through the ELD
Continue to manually maintain your duty status records using paper logs until
the ELD is repaired and compliant.

In case of any issues during a DOT inspection, be prepared to present your
manually maintained Records of Duty Status (RODS) to the roadside officer.
